The Contemporary Austin organizes its biggest exhibit to date. Taking its title from Gabriel Garcia Marquez stories about disenfranchised world travelers, Strange Pilgrims trains its lens on contemporary experiential-based art that defies simple formats and is immersive, participatory, performative or kinetic. Theres a narrow light-sculpture corridor by Bruce Nauman viewers slip through. Yoko Ono invites the public to enter a dream into a computer, which then transmits the message to an electronic sign installed on the Contemporarys Laguna Gloria grounds. ­ Jeanne Claire can Ryzin
