One Woman Show (1971) included everything that made Ono such a revolutionary artist. Looking at the array of objects and ephemera included in One Woman Show (2015), you cant help but marvel at the distilled perfection of her first museum visitation. Theres her astonishing ability to conjure her work in the cortex of her audience by mere suggestion, and to realize her work through other peoples actions. The original One Woman Show perfectly evoked her most profound idea, which she made artistic in her Instruction Paintings and political in her War Is Over (If You Want It) posters: the notion that reality is active and participatory, and therefore a collective responsibility.
