John Lennon’s acoustic charms the pickers at Old Town School
Years ago, Lennon’s widow,
, donated the guitar, one of many he owned, to Chicago’s Peace Museum, along with a letter noting that her husband had used it for practice. The museum, which was dedicated to preserving artifacts from various peace movements, eventually closed and its collection went into storage.
Last week, Graves, executive director of the Old Town School, got a call saying that the guitar had been freed from its long legal limbo. The school could have it.
